Training your staff in 18 short lessons
Dr Kedar's own staff training, in 18 short lessons. Each one ends with one thing to do at the desk today.
A clinic is judged at the desk long before the chair. Dr Kedar has trained his own team for years, and he recorded that training. In Six Figures it becomes a course of 18 short lessons, in his own voice, with subtitles in English, Hindi and Marathi. It begins where he always begins.
The patient thinks that if the staff is so good, the doctor will be so good. — Dr Kedar Bakshi
First, attitude: a patient who has a good experience tells four people, and the practice grows. Then the habits that make a desk reliable. Nothing in the mind, everything on paper. Knowing the clinic's vision, mission and values. Understanding that pain-free treatment is a team job, with gentle hands and a calm word.
Real moments at the desk
Most lessons are about moments every clinic knows. The welcome, and the words please, thank you and sorry. The patient in pain who walks in without an appointment. Never saying "we are very busy", and giving a firm time instead. The appointment call, with the record open. Phones on silent. Knowing the instruments, and being there before the patient. The registration form, line by line. Thanking the person who referred a patient, and remembering the patient years later.
The last lessons are about running the clinic: policy, system and the morning five minutes; never running out of materials; the morning round from the gate to the chair; the Z-folder, the diary and leave; who answers the consultation fee; and broken appointments, said politely. Each lesson is a few minutes long and ends with one thing to do at the desk today. Every Six Figures clinic, doctor and staff, can watch the course after signing in.
